replacing mbp clamshell (lid, lcd, glass)

hello all,

a couple of days ago my mbp fell about 3 feet to a carpeted floor.

In total... the damage came out to be a dented top lid, wrecked lcd, and cracked glass. I am using it to post right now using an external monitor so the notebook seems to be operating correctly.

I am thinking that to save some time and money I will replace the clamshell myself.

I'm not an expert, but not a complete newb at replacing hardware either. I have replaced the screen in my iphone 4 and completed a dual drive setup in my mbp.

Here's what I have: mid 2012 13" mbp, i5, A1278.

These are what I am looking at buying:

I assume one of these is all I would need and it comes with the camera built in.

Here are my questions:

1) has anyone here completed this before and do you have any tips?

2) which option would you buy if you were me?

3) any other thoughts in regards to the procedure and my situation?

or... has anyone had apple replace the screen and if so what was the cost? I didn't look into it. I am assuming its astronomical
