Hi guys

Following on from a previous post, I am going to have to replace my MBP mid 2012 screen. It is a non retina model.
Just have a couple of perhaps obvious questions:

1. Can I replace it with a Retina screen?

2. If I cannot replace it with a Retina screen, can I replace it with a higher quality screen than what it has at the moment?

3. Will replacing the screen aslo solve the dead pixels issue (am sure it will but didnt know if this is another piece of hardware causing this).

Thanks guys.

1. no, it wouldn't work, even socket and cable are different

2. you can upgrade screen on 15" non-retina using original Apple screen from resolution 1440x900 to 1650x1080 or/and mate version

3. yes, it will solve

Id be looking for the screen without the reflection/flare, do you know which one that may be?

it's a matte version, you can also use screen from 2011, but to fit into 2012 you need slightly do some file on connector

The display panel is what it is.
I reckon the only "replacement" will be exactly the same part as what's there now.

Apple may now consider this "vintage", and not even stock that panel any longer.

I've so far found knowhere (in the UK at least) with a 10800 screen for Mid 2012 MBP, literally everything else but the display.

Any decent links guys?
