Replacing My HDD In My Macbook

So I'm looking to replace my hdd and am looking for a new one with 500gb of storage. I honestly have no idea what I should be looking for. Any recommendations? Preferably $80 and under. Thanks! Oh, and the computer is a mid 2009 white macbook.

I'd go out on a limb and say, since you are opening a 2009 machine anyway, have you thought about a dual drive set up? You could get a real performance boost. A 128gb Samsung SSD would set you back about 100 bucks, then you swap the optical drive for a 500gb drive for data storage.

I would, but I'm getting a new computer for christmas. This is just to hold me over since whenever I export/edit any of my videos, I'm left with 5gb of free space. Impossible to get any work done like that.
