Hey folks
I some how damaged my MBA 2012 yr model screen and i was thinking to buy any MBA 2012 for parts from ebay and replace my screen, would that be a good idea

Currently i am using this laptop thru my external monitor and it works fine.

If you plan on replacing the whole top case, fine, go for it.

However, I CANNOT recommend disassembling the top case and replacing just the LCD. That can get extremely hairy and more than likely you'll ruin it.

I had my screen replaced by macservice.com, they did a really good job and they were fast. it does cost 299 but replacing the screen is tricky and will probably cause more problems then it solves (everything is glued on so you need a heat gun and you need to pry a lot)
