Well just decided I would try and replace the cells in my A1148 PowerBook G4. I haven’t used this thing in years so the battery is toast.

Completed step 1 lol opened the battery without damaging it or setting it on fire. I’m going to order new cells tonight so I’ll update this post as I move along.

Hey... that's real neat. Where did you find new cells at?
I'm looking for some. Don't want to buy the "cheap" ones but I've never bought them before so I'm not sure of any legit places that sell them as advertised.

But hey, I might be getting a free flashlight and charger if I have to order them through amazon lol. :rolleyes:

Came upon a similar topic in another forum and it seems you will need to reprogram some chip inside the battery in order for the new cells to work at full capacity.
