Is there anyone that has experience in how to replace an ipods harddisk and also where to purchase these?
(I have tried all the usual methods like openfirmware td + ipod-recovery methods from apple's support site)
Unfortunately i do not have warranty or applecare so i have to try to replace it myself and haven't found an online adress where to purchase these (apple store recommended buying a new one but thats not financially possible yet)

I think that when you do find the drive for sale, you will find it is not saing you any real money to just replace the drive.

I suggest you save up enough money to buy a new iPod.

Yes i found out that a replacement drive is hard to find and also specific to the generation and type (i have a second generation 10 gb hd). Its an internal toshiba harddisk that are delivered exclusively to apple. but i was hoping that someone here with a simulair experience could help me to some online adress of some kind.
