Hi,

I have a macbook pro which screen has completely gone. It just got worse and worse, looking like someone punched it... over and over again... which didn't happen. Anyhow, I want to replace it and have found walk throughs and tutorials on the process (and have worked with hardware before).

Although I'm a bit nervous on ordering screens online, and their compatibility.

The macbook pro I have is a 2006 model.
intel duo 2.1.6
15.4"
1440 x 900 screen

What is the difference with matt and gloss? I'm assuming it came with a matt, but gloss seems to only be available?

Do I need back lighting with the screen or does it not need replacing?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

Thanks

Thanks for that link, it supplied me we everything I needed to know in replacing the screen.

Cheers!
