Hey all,

Well, my early 2008 MBP SuperDrive failed. It's a GSA-S10N, and does not accept any disks whatsoever. I tried cleaning the laser, but nevertheless it still rejects every disk.

I searched out a replacement drive and found the UJ-898A, which is in most of the unibody MBP's. It doesn't explicitly say that it is compatible, but then again it does not say it is not either. They both use SATA connections, and are 9.5mm thick, so I would imagine it would work just fine? Since OSX has the drivers for all the drives built in, it should be fine, yea?

I've searched the forum for this, but alas, could not find anything. Hopefully everything turns out fine, and if anybody has put this drive in a non-unibody MBP, please give me your feedback.

Thanks!
