Isolated incident - more curious than anything.
What would cause the sender's email address to not show in the To: space on a Reply?
I received a flood of emails in response to a request so I created a rule and moved all of the emails to a mailbox "on my Mac."
When responding to these messages the response opens up, the subject is inserted (with the RE: ) but the sender's email isn't there.
This happens when I click the Reply arrow in the toolbar, the little Reply icon below the header in the preview pane (new on Lion) and when clicking CTRL-Click over the summary in the left-hand column.
Oddly, if I highlight the sender's actual email address in the header and select New message from the drop-down menu, I get a reply with the sender's address.
Things I've tried:
1) These people are not in my Address Book, does that matter? NO - other messages from people not in the Address Book function normally.
2) These messages all came through a 3rd-party source. They answered a question I'd posted on a website. My email address was masked by a redirect link from that site.
ideas? Like I said, this isn't urgent or even a problem, just curious.
