Just noticed this tweet via @QuickPWN "Jailbreakers: iOS 4.1 Update Is A Trap [RT!] http://bit.ly/bs0pB0"

No further information on how this has been accomplished by Apple but I am certainly waiting until an official response from the dev team is released.

I think you've misunderstood.

This happens every firmware, you update, you've lost your jailbreak. Every update the team will warn you not to update since there's no jailbreak for that version, it doesn't mean there will not be a jailbreak for that version in the future.

You'll always get some idiot updating then complaining when he can't Jailbreak, and can't downgrade to a jailbreakable firmware because he didn't backup his SHSH blobs.

In conclusion, 4.1 will not permanently disable anything.

Whatcha talking about!?

This is just like all the other guys saying dont update till they release a jailbreak...

if you upgrade to 4.1 on a jailbroken idevice it gets stuck at the boot screen, but instead of an applo logo it's a laughing steve job's head

There are a couple of expoits already found for 4.1. Bootrom and userland.

so let me get this straight. I have ssh blobs of 4.0.2, 4.0.1 and 4.0.

So If i were to "erase all data and settings today" or if my company remote wiped all my data because its got company data. I can restore it back with the SHSH blobs?

Even if I moved to 4.1?

Yea OP, you misunderstood

Recent MuscleNerd tweet

Crazy timing that @pod2g got latest exploit just as 4.1 went public (lots of work left...keep away from 4.1 for now!)

Yuuuuuup.

The only problem you may have if you have not had your iPhone 4 previous Jailbroken is your baseband will be updated and you may lose your unlock if you are not on a official carrier. I updated my iPhone 4 last week and the proximity issue and bluetooth issue all went away. iOS 4.1 rocks!

But you would be stuck with new 5.14.xx baseband loaded by 4.1 firmware. Not unlockable yet.

Except if you need an unlock. You can not downgrade your baseband once you upgrade to the 4.1 firmware.

Lol
