Repurpose 08 MBP as Mac Mini/Apple TV?

It should be no problem making my MBP act as a Mac Mini, connecting it to my TV via DVI-HDMI and a pair of speakers for sound.

My main questions are if it can be woken from sleep mode while closed via bluetooth keyboard/trackpad, and if it's possible to stream TO the Macbook Pro a la Apple TV?

Yes, you can wake it from sleep. And no, you can't stream to the MacBook.
