request: tethering apps for holiday break?

I know that often "unauthorized" apps can take advantage of Apple's holiday break to sneak into the app store about now.

Anyone know of any disguised apps that actually let you tether? Are there any out there these days?

Most carriers permit hotspots so I think the need for such apps have all but evaporated imo
