Hi,

I'd like to know what you think is a fair price is for a 2008 Macbook Pro, 15", 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 Ram, 200 GB Storage. It still works very well and has a brand new battery.

I'm not looking to make money, but sell it to a friend for a fair price.

And also, do you think buying a new Macbook pro would be a big advantage for running software like Ableton Live 9? That's my primary reason for wanting to upgrade.

Thanks!

You can get a wholesale selling price from Gazelle. You can see trending prices in ebay. I purchase 2010 white MacBooks on ebay for around $300-375. It has to be mint to be worth more than $400.

just go on ebay, enter in your item specifics in the search area, and click on "sold listings". Ebay will show you how much your exact item sold for.

new RAM and SSD 256 will do that puppy WONDERS beyond your friend's wildest imagination.

Just put an OWC 500gb SSD in my early 2008. Amazing how snappy it still is for a 6 year old machine! Have you tried Ableton on it? I don't know what the requirements are but you might be surprised how well it runs.
