Resale value of new MBP 15

I'm considering getting a 15" base model of the MBP. I'd probably spec it to 320GB HDD, hi-res glossy and Applecare. The total is just under £1420 with higher education discount.

Just outta curiosity. What kinda figures would I be looking at if I wanted to sell it in a year or two?

No good way to tell. It depends on if it's upgraded and what the upgrades are. Probably at worst you're looking at 50% of what you pay now... Macs tend to hold onto their value.

Condition is everything with Macs, so take good care of it if you want top dollar. AC will also help with value.

It's hard to say. Check Mac2Sell, subtract 5-10% and factor in condition.

Well, the previous gen which went originally for £1499 (Same as the i5 base 15" now) (This is the 2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo model see my sig) is still selling on ebay, with no AppleCare and some in not very good condition for £1000. They hold their value fantastically, and I'm planning to keep mine until the next revision
