I just picked up a gorgeous 45mm graphite SS, I have the itch to go all the way and get the Hermes edition, My question is does the Hermes edition bring a better trade in value the the other pieces ? or does it take a substantial hit.

Agreed. The trade in value is usually the same across all models, so the aluminum ones have the best bang for the buck in that regard.

Yeah it’s about the same. I looked before series 7 was out and the highest for SS was going for £330 I believe.

If you sell it on Swappa or some other resale sites, even Craigslist, resale value is not that bad on SS or Titanium. I just sold my Titanium AW 6 for $535 on Swappa.

I think in general SS/Ti watches have better resale value mainly because of the sapphire crystal. My aluminium S6 screen was scratched diagonally due to unknown reason and I don’t think I will get a good resale price for it. Maybe this will go to the hand me down route.

Of course, the law of diminishing return means that SS/Ti models will lose much more in resale value as compared with their listed prices. But there is much more than resale value in life.
