rescync over and over again

My iPhone 3G keeps getting synced every couple of minutes automatically.

I don't worry to much about it but the annoying thing is the itunes keeps coming up and then things i am doing get disturbed.

Is this a setting somewhere?

My 3g does that a lot as well. My phone also restarts itself alot when syncing. I have always assumed it is a faulty cable as it only seems to happen with one particular connector cable. And yes iTunes constantly opening gets annoying.
