Reselling MacBook Pro 13inch 2011- Needed help

I am following the instructions on the apple home page.

The other help that I need is that I don't want to restore my new mac with the Time Machine Data from this mac. I only want to salvage the Photos/Videos/Music. Else all can go down the drain. Any idea how I can make a backup of only these 3? In such a format that I can just copy/paste in the new mac.

just copy your HOME folder to an external drive, delete the folders you don't need (if you want)

Just do a manual backup. Drag the necessary files onto a properly formatted external flash or hard drive. Make sure the computer isn't still authorized for anything before you reformat and sell as well.
