So, any idea when the stores will start taking reservations for the 10th? I'm normally not a launch-day person, but I'm anxious to try this on so I can know once and for all if I'm gonna get it.

I'm guessing they will start to take reservations on April 3rd. Seven days before hand just seems about right.

I will be making appointment even if I don't need one.

If they don't have appointments, I'll probably head over to the apple store after I put in my pre-order at 3AM, I know which ones I want, I just want to try them on in real life.

I also want to pick up a macbook if they are already at the store on the 10th.

One rep told me today, that I'd have to wait until 4/9/15 to call and schedule an appointment for 4/10/15, and another rep told me that they will not offer any appointments.

If you are referring to the new MacBook those don't come out until June.

I fear supply constraints might make this reservation system nothing more than a formality. There is a reason you can preload your favorite watch in the Apple Store app. If you are not preordering, then you probably waiting much like the iPhone 6 release. Never mind there will be what 13 countries available at launch?

Morale of the story if you want one on the 24th, then you better be up early on the 10th. I respect the people who want to try them on prior to purchase but your purchase might not arrive for a couple months.

Like the new trackpad?

That's one thing, sure.

And I'm talking about a full refresh. Not just throwing the new trackpad onto what is, effectively, the existing model.

I've been holding onto my 2012 15" retina MBP as the last couple of bumps haven't been significant enough for me to warrant upgrading, but with the next rev, if they include not only the trackpad, but the keyboard, tighter logic board (to allow for more battery space) and the new terraced batteries (to take full advantage of all the space in there), along with what should be a noticeable increase in processor power.

Obviously, fanless will be out of the question for a MBP, but that list of stuff along with improvements in other specs will be all the prompting I'll need.

This should help.. Had an online chat with an Apple Specialist from Australia.
