Was up in Chicago this weekend with my dad and brothers for a show (King Crimson, FYI) and my youngest bro wanted to pick up a 6 before we left town. He checked the Apple Store app and it said Space Gray 128gb 4.7" was available to reserve but the app would hang up when he tried to purchase, so we walked up to the store on Michigan Ave. There were 14 people in line on the sidewalk waiting to buy iPhones being monitored by an employee. We walked in, bro pulled up the app, reserves the iPhone for pick-up. 3 minutes later an employee calls his name and we walked out shortly after. Whole process took less than 20 min, and the line barely moved. I bought a red silicone case for my 6 with the app barcode scanner. Couldn't have asked for an easier experience. We totally cut the line, but we assumed the store wouldn't let it happen if it was against the rules, plus we had to hit the road by noon. Yay technology!
