Reset for iPad 2

I'm giving my iPad 2 to someone and I want to delete everything from it and also want to set it up in his own name with his own i.d. and password.
Can I do this without a trip to the Apple store?

Absolutely, and it is a non-complex assignment.

A schoolgirl could pull it off in about five minutes.

Very easy. See this Apple support article.

Just go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings and that will wipe it completely. Then just setup as a new device with the new owners iCloud/AppleID information.
