iPad Reset ipad as new device- get free iWork apps?

Has anyone tried resetting their ipad as a new device, is it eligible for getting iWork for free?

You can actually now download each iWork and iLife app for free on the App Store regardless of whether you set up your device as new or not. I did it on my iPhone the other day, got both full suites. Well, at least you can in the UK. Can't see why it would be different anywhere else.

If you purchased your iOS device after 1september.. it's not free for everyone like on OSX
