Hi,

I have been trying to reset my dictionary for a few days because of annoying corrections that have saved (gonna corrects to ginna, tge doesn't correct to the, etc...) but it's not working. I've tried probably 10 times all up. I'm running version 5.0.1 and it's an iphone 4 if any of that helps.

Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

Yes, I have the same exact problem since upgrading to iOS 5 (& the auto suggestions/corrections are also inconsistent; it won't capitalize iOS right now but does at other times). This is extremely annoying. It keeps auto-replacing "that" with "Tgat" & other such nonsense. This is already a frustrating feature to begin with since it eventually WILL learn the wrong stuff all the time & requires regular resetting. I dislike that fact. It'd make much more sense to offer an interface to manually remove individual junk instead of resetting it all. Not the Apple way, I know, but is the Apple way to require the user to brain wipe an "intelligent" feature every few months just because it learns bad words?

I've sent Apple a bug report via the iPhone feedback form but I've yet to see a single result from anything I've sent thru that. Still, you might as well do the same... The more reports, the more likely Apple will look into & correct it.

Anyone get Apple to acknowledge this issue yet? Or solve it? It's pissing me off!!

Bump.

I have the exact same problem. I can't believe this isn't an issue with everyone!! There aren't enough OCD people in the world :(.

Hey I think I figured it out. This problem had been plaguing me for months. So what I just did, and so far it works, is reset the keyboard like 5 or 6 time is a row then immediately turned it off and let it sit for a min. Then turned it back on. I'm assuming the key is powering it down. Not necessarily the resetting the dictionary a bunch of times. Give it a shot and let me know!
