Hi all,
I have a unibody Macbook Pro. I've been having some problems recently with the firewire port. I'd plug different hard drives in. First it had trouble seeing and mounting them, until I did a restart, and now it seems that the computer just stops communicating with the drive, suddenly being unable to access it mid-process.
I don't think this is a problem with the drive because it's done this on two separate drives. I also started using the USB port on the drive and I don't experience the same problems. I am experiencing a new problem with the USB, where the drive unmounts completely and disappears from the Disk Utility without warning.
Does anyone have any idea how to reset my ports so that I can see whether the issue is with my computer or my drive?
Thanks guys!
-Chris
