Resetting a locked DVD drive?

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro and my little brother has watched too many different DVDs on it and now it's locked. Can anyone let me know of any procedure that might help me do it? My harddrive is HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS23N with a SB07 Firmware Revision. I tried to follow a tutorial but I failed. Could anyone advice me on what I should do? I have a huge DVD collection of RG-1 which I now can't watch on my computer and it's killing me...

Unless you can find region free firmware for it (I couldn't find any) then it's permanently locked to whatever region its currently at.

Find an external drive that can be patched for region free.

I think you meant optical drive, not hard drive.
