My 3G has been sucking for the past two days and I assumed it was something with AT&Ts network in my area. Earlier I had a friends iPhone4 next to mine and her speedtest was showing like 2500k and mine was a dismal 20k. Immediately I thought something was wrong with my phone and started to think I should re-seat the sim and all kinds of other things.

Don't ask me why but the first thing I did was turn off Cellular Data under network settings. I haven't really messed with that before but the 3G symbol disappeared and then reappeared when I turned it back on. I ran the speed test again and viola! 2000-2500k for me.

Just passing on the info.
