I was given an iMac (g4 with the round base) that is like new and was barely used. The problem since the previous owner barely used the computer, he doesn't remember the system password. He didn't give me the CD's or anything. I have a Leopard CD that I bought as a family pack. Is it possible to reset the owner info and put my info into the computer? Can I upgrade this computer to leopard?

Thanks in advance

If you have a Leopard DVD, you have several options. All involve booting the Mac from the DVD, and that won't work if the iMac has less than 512MB of RAM (Leopard's minimum requirement), nor will it work if the processor is slower than 800 MHz (another minimum requirement for Leopard).

Anyway... once booted from the Leopard DVD, you can try resetting the admin password from the Utilities menu. If that fails, then you should be able to perform an Erase and Install of Leopard (assuming you don't mind losing anything that was on the iMac) and be able to set your own username/password.
