My MBP (year or so old) is running slow and has a few bugs here and there. I want to wipe it and reinstall the OSX from scratch.

1) What's the best process in doing this?
2) IF I lost the install disc that specifically came with this mac, can I use one that I have with another more recent mac?

3) Can I restore only certain programs/files from time machine? Or is it all of it form a given date?

Thanks for the help!!

1. With a retail disc.
2. No.
3. If you truly want a clean install you would reinstall the programs you want as well.

Ugh. So I basically need to buy a new disc just for this is what you are saying? Might as well wait for the new OSX to come out right?
