Resetting NVRAM+PRAM

No... nothing changed. try again? Hold Command, Option, P and R immediately after turing on the computer. Hold them down until you hear the startup chime twice.

Yes I've done it dozens of times before I tried multiple times no luck will try again later

Try an external keyboard? I haven't the fuzziest idea why it wouldn't work. What machine do you have (I see your signature has "Current 13", but I wasn't aware the Retina's had hybrid drives)?

Also, I figured you knew how... I just had to check (you know...). I've been doing the PRAM reset since the 1990's.

Aftermarket drive was fine for 6 mths has now died
