Last night I decided to reset Safari since my web browser was full of pointless urls that I no longer wanted to come up when I type in the url bar. I have done this several times since I first purchased my computer in October 2006.
I had no problems after I did it, but today when I come on my computer and I want to go to a website that I do not have bookmarked, I try to type in just the word (e.g. hotmail instead of hotmail.com) and it used to bring me to the website. Now when I just type in the word, it brings me to an Optimum Online (the type of internet connection I have) and says that the domain was not found. It then gives me a list of websites, the top of which is what I am looking for.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and/or why it is happening?
Thank you!
