Resetting SMC..

i would like to reset my SMC so the keyboard backlight and screen brightness go back to the default out of box setting.

i've tried numerous times following instructions i found online through apple, through youtube, etc, even holding the key combination for 5 sec, 10 sec, etc, and still doesn't reset the SMC.

does anybody know how to do it for this macbook?

It is the same as the MacBook Pro...
By chance, do you have the firmware password enabled? I found with it active, I was unable to reset PRAM and SMC.

Same here, after a week of use Wifi and Bluetooth died. It seems impossible to reset PRAM on this model.
