Resident Evil 2 Mac - Can you purchase game before downloading?

I want to buy Resident Evil 2 from the Mac App Store whilst the price is on offer, but I currently don't have enough space on my SSD to download it. So is there any way to purchase the base game before downloading it?

Not that I know of. It only needs 22.1GB and not double the space like before. In Sequoia you can also choose to install games from App Store on external drives so surely you can find 22GB somewhere? The drive must be formatted as APFS. You don't need to format the whole drive though. You can create a partition but that can take a few hours. You can aslo use SD cards or USB sticks.

The games go on sale regularly so you’ll get another chance if you can’t buy it now.

I thought it asks if you want to install an app after buying it.

They should separate the demo and purchase button like Steam.
