resize screenshots on the fly...

every time i take a screenshot, i have to reduce it by 1/2 before (for example) i post here. so... how can i automate that process?

am assuming an automator script; anyone have the details for this?

You wanna try auto saving your screen captures as jpg instead of .png

Copy and paste this line in terminal...and enter...

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg

how will that reduce the size to 1/2? seems it would just change the file type...
i want to cut the pixel size in half, not reduce the file size...
