Resolution not what it should be?

For people not using the TBD or CD, how are you getting the full 2560x1440 resolution if you have a 27" monitor? I'm using the Asus PB278Q, but I can only seem to get up to 1920x1080 over DVI, VGA or HDMI... Any help is appreciated
