About 50% of the time when I wake my Macbook Pro from sleep the resolution on my external monitor is set incorrectly. To fix the issue I can either put it back to sleep and hope that when it wakes up it chooses the correct resolution, or I can manually change the resolution in the system preferences.

I suspect that the cause of the problem has something to do with the fact that over the last few months I have hooked it up to at least 3 different external monitors all with varying screen resolution, and for some reason it's getting confused about which one it is hooked up to.

Assuming I have correctly diagnosed the cause of the issue I was wondering if there are any logs or anything that I could delete so that it stops getting confused.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
