Ok my friend has the 17" MBP with the HD upgrade, and he's trying to hook it up to his 32" 720p TV and he has all the right cables in all the right places he just can't find a good resolution so my question is this: what is a good resolution for a tv like this?

thanks

there isnt one

if its only 720p then the max resolution can only be like, what, 800x600? im not sure though, someone correct me please

Are you serious? Please remove your post because you don't know what you're talking about.

Seriously though, if its native 720p then the resolution is 1280x720. 720P stands for 720 vertical lines (the "P" means progressive)

However, if its an LCD tv then chances are thats not actually its resolution. Its more likely 1368x768, which is the resolution that LCD tv makers have built their "720p" sets as.
