ny somewhere
let me make that clearer lol.

i used to keep an alias of the sound preference pane on my desktop. i'd like to do that, but in ventura, there are no preference panes. i've searched in the system folder, in various packages, coreservices for anything that might be the 'sound' section...

am guessing this is no longer possible (but it's a good challenge). anyone have ideas or info?

seems unlikely. i searched with 'find any file' (ie files, package contents, invisibles); the only thing i found was "Sound.appex", a quicklook system extension. so the days of my doing the above are over (it's not a big deal).

Not a solution to your original issue, but option+hotkey takes you to that preference item - i.e option + sound takes you to the sound preference area.

could you clarify? option & what hotkey? am not finding that... thanx!

EDIT: oops. option-volume up.

guess i can do that, or just open system settings (or open from control center). will figure out the 'best' parth. thanks again

hard to decide the shortest AND most 'natural' path; trying to adapt to 'option-volume up'. but great to have options. thanx ppl 👍

Got to the bottom of the Sound item in the menu bar - the "Speaker." You'll see "Sound Settings…"
You could attach a shortcut key to that.
