I restored my 1.1.4 iPod Touch with purchased software update but the apps have gone missing? What do I do to get them back?

RESOLUTION: I selected "Check for Purchases" from the "Store" Menu item and synced my iPod Touch with the result being the applications reappeared.

What email address did you send your message to? Did they actually answer you?

I've had to restore my iPod Touch 16GB - and unfortunately I no longer own the machine I had installed the Software Update from, but of course I still have the same iTunes account. Basically I'm getting no joy from this, and as far as troubleshooting goes I'm stuck in an endless loop of useless troubleshooting tips and useless guidelines.

Try looking in ~/Users/(Your Username)/Library/iTunes/Mobile Applications . Is it there?

hehe, I guess I don't pay attention to post dates or thread titles, oops.

how do you do this on a PC?
Here you go.
You wish to transfer the update file from your PC to your Mac, yes?

When you downloaded the January Software update on your non-mac system the update landed in the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\Mobile Applications

Now if you transfer the (.ipa) file in that folder to this directory on your Mac:

~/Users/(Your Username)/Library/iTunes/Mobile Applications

Then re-sync your device with iTunes making sure 'Manually Manage Music' is not ticked on the 'Summary' tab.

You applications should fly back over.
