What app do you guys use to find local areas to eat and all that jazz? I've tried one or two but nothing has caught my eye yet! Yelp seems somewhat unrealiable.

Vicinity is being touted by Apple at the moment on its TV ads (http://www.apple.com/iphone/gallery/ads/) - click "Vicinity" down the bottom.

It looks great but there is a small charge for the app. I wish Apple would open a limited-period trial model to app developers. I would happily buy this app if I knew the data was there for my location.

Where to (GPS points of interest) seems like a good one. The UI on it looks great and I love the look of the wheel with the options. Have yet to download it though.

can you not just use gmaps? find your location and search for 'chinese restaurant' or whatever you want

good point... The only good feature for the App I listed above is that it doesn't require typing anything, just a tap of the thing you're looking for.
