How often should one power down and restart? I heard somewhere it's a good idea to power down and restart at least once a week. Can someone confirm this? Any techies?

I just had my first crash on my 6, but now that I think about it I don't think I've ever rebooted the thing since getting it on launch day.

I used to restart about once a week - but as the phones and OS have been getting better and better, I now only do so when there's an issue.

I suggest rebooting every so often. I know a few people who didn't receive some of their text messages for whatever reason, and when they rebooted their iPhone months later, the texts downloaded.

When it's not behaving as expected. For me that's maybe 1-2 times a month.

Never, unless there is some issue with your phone. For example, I once had a problem adding new keyboards in the settings app - a reboot solved it. But if everything is working fine, I don't see the point of rebooting for the sake of rebooting.

as others states I also only reboot when an issue pops up. It's usualy the first step in troubleshooting an iPhone.

But it's not going to hurt anything op even if you reboot once a day lol. The 6 and 6 plus reboot so fast anyway you're up and running in about 30 seconds
