Restart problems

Anyone having problems not being able to Restart in Lion? I've repaired permissions but can't seem to restart. I have to hold the power button just to turn it off.

So shutting down doesn't work?

If you press (not hold) the power button and click restart/shut down on the window that comes up does it work?
