If the Home app can't connect to a homepod to restart it that way, and pressing the top button on the homepod itself indicates it can't connect to the internet, is the only way to restart it by physically unplugging it?

Is there no way to restart it by pressing a combination of buttons on the homepod itself?

I'm not looking to "reset" it.

(fyi - to save anyone from wasting their time, I'm only seeking answers to my questions, not advice on connection issues)

In the Home app long press on the HomePod and go all the way to the bottom. Press Reset HomePod then select Restart HomePod.

Thanks, but that feature doesn't appear when I do that - I'm assuming because the home app can't connect to it to restart it. At the bottom it indicates "HomePod is not responding". Am I misunderstanding?

Then I would say the only other way to restart it is to unplug it.

Okay, thanks.

Apple in its infinite wisdom decided a restart button on the device itself was not required since their devices always work perfectly. What a PITA.
