On my Mac Mini earlier, I pulled the ethernet cable and then put it back in. Networking resumed, I was able to browse the internet etc.

However... I was (before pulling the cable) connected to a windows share on another machine. I was unable to reconnect after putting the cable back in - finder just hung when clicking 'connect as...'.

A restart resumed normal connections to the machine.

Is there a daemon or suchlike on OS X (10.5) that I can restart in order to prevent restarting the entire operating system in future?

Thanks in advance...

But that only affects the shares you are making available to others, not the ones you are connected to...

I'm not actually sharing anything either, so that box is unchecked anyway..
