you can also buy gift cards with the codes.

buy the card pick the restaurants later

I've never tried it before, but I'll have to give it a shot...

Seems like a lot of the restaurants on Restaurant.com for the DC area are, well, either overpriced, out-of-the-way, or just lagging in some way.

Is that why they are on there to begin with? (i.e. they need business?)

I never tried it before, however I have checked out the deals. Lots of small prints in the restaurant gift cards.

some cities have better choices then others. Houston used to be really good. now maybe 10 goof places out of 100.

Austin has a lot more good places.

most certs for 25 bucks make you spend 35 excluding drinks. but you still get $25 card for only $1.00

Hmm I'll have to check out Baltimore too -- at face value they wouldn't be worth it, but for 90% off why not.

Replace Baltimore with Chicago and you have my thinking. It could be worth it for a few bucks. Also, get the gift vouchers. They cost the same and you can choose a restaurant later. Coming back Oct. 1 since most gift cards are gone already.

And just be sure to read all the fine print.
