Restore Apple Watch to "Set up as new" iPhone?

Hey guys, as the title suggests, I'd like to make a backup of my Apple Watch, but I'd like to pair it and restore it to my iPhone after I have factory reset the iPhone and set it up as new. Is this possible or can I only restore my Apple Watch backup to an iPhone when the iPhone is restored? Thanks for the help guys!
 
If You factory reset the iPhone, you also have to set up Apple Watch as new. Because all your data is stored on your iPhone.

I believe But anytime you unpair the Apple Watch and re-pair it, your data is stored. If you wipe the Apple Watch, then it has to be set up as a new device.

In Any case, when you re-pair the Apple Watch, you have the option of restoring from new or from back up, and all your information is saved.
