Restore Apps from Different Time Machine

I'm wondering if there is a way that I can restore apps from a different time machine. I did a clean install and was putting everything back one at a time....but I forgot one app. I did a backup though, and now it won't let me enter the old backups to restore it. Anyone know how I can do this?
