Restore before jailbreaking?

Hey guys, I updated from 3.1.2 to 4.0 and tried to do the jailbreakme jailbreak, but nothing shows up; it's just the purple nebula thing. Is that a server side issue or should I have restored to 4.0?

JailbreakMe was having server issues earlier today. I tried it and it should be working now.
