Restore Device?

I am trying to update my iPod Touch 1.1.2 to firmware 1.1.3 via the Official 1.1.3 Update by the Dev Team.

I downloaded the latest Update program and it is asking me if I would like to restore the device... Should I?

What does it mean in this case?
Please help...

Its going to erase all the content on your iPod.
