iPad Restore doesn't want to install apps

Seems like a weird bug. Tried to restore on my new iPad Air, but it only copies the pictures and none the apps, claiming that they can't be found??
When I click on apps they are all listed but when I try to install them they can't be found even-though they are clearly there?? I backed up on an alias, but never had problems with it on the iPhone. How to fix this? It's really important that I get my app back!

Are you restoring from iCloud or from iTunes? And do you still have your old iPad?

iTunes, the old iPad was wiped and sold.

Urn, so are the apps on your computer? If not, you may just have to redownllad them from the App Store.

yeah I transferred them and they are shown but when I click on it, it can't find it? Not sure redownload them would restore the apps the way where when I backed them up.
