restore from backup, but no music.

I restored from a backup of my iPhone 4, but it didn't bring over any music...
How do I move my playlists from my old phone to the new 5s?

correct, iCould back up doesn't back up the music.

Now I plug in the 5s and it won't connect to iTunes because it says iTunes needs to be updated, but there are no updates available!!

I just want to get the music off of my old phone and onto the new one!

Go to apple.com and look for iTunes there and download the latest one. You need 11.1 for iOS 7
