hey there everyone,
I just got a new macbook, (13 inch unibody, which is now a pro, with firewire, i'll save my rant for later) from my university. We get it "for free" ($2000 of our tuition a year is allotted for it, so not free, but oh well) but of course they go through it and put some funky settings on it (virusscan, weird user admin settings, the works, they really know how to screw computers up). So anyway I have a bunch of permissions settings because I've been changing a lot of it, so sometimes the computer won't boot back up when it has been shut down with certain drives attached and stuff. Long story short I am looking to reinstall leopard, on my own how I like it, but I'd love to be able to use a "restore from time machine backup" option if possible, mainly to avoid reinstalling all the applications I have for my computer. I know time machine saves lots of settings, but I was wondering if these permission settings will be dragged back into the computer if I do it this way.
Please feel free to share your thoughts, comments, questions, whatever. Thanks everyone
